The Quail Institute Fellowship Program
Following the changing landscape of the golf industry, the Quail Institute is a collaboration between the Quail Hollow Club, John Deere and Colt Mackenzie McNair.
The concept was developed to respond to both the industry and individual needs within the club profession. The Quail Institute focuses on the skills and competencies required to fully develop club industry professionals into an advocate for leading change. The learning gained by the Fellows will filter not only to the direct stakeholders involved in the program but also the wider club industry having positive effects for the profession. The program will include three Fellows, one each in the areas of Agronomy, Golf Operations and Club Management selecting the very best candidates to undertake the program on an annual basis.

"Being the first club management Fellow in the inaugural year of the Quail Institute was a tremendous experience! I had the opportunity to learn and develop my management skills alongside club managers who consistently challenged and encouraged me. This fellowship gave me the knowledge and experiential learning I needed to be prepared and successful in my first management position. I acquired an overall understanding of not only clubhouse operations but all facets of what it takes to make a club special. By attending all of the "Big 3" industry shows and building relationships with superintendents, golf professionals and club managers I gained insights far beyond my current position and experience level. The involvement between Quail Hollow, John Deere, and Colt Mackenzie McNair makes this fellowship one of a kind in our industry and I am so thankful for all the opportunities provided to me as a result of their devotion to creating the next leaders in the golf industry."
-Rachel Nesbitt, Inaugural Quail Institute Fellow - Class of 2018
"The Quail Institute Fellowship was an eye opening learning learning experience and introduction to the entire golf industry. The networking included in the fellowship experience is unrivaled by anything else in the industry. I was challenged each day by the best professionals in their respected leadership positions and now have several mentors to help me accelerate achieving my career aspirations. On top of all that I had a lot of fun and made many life long friends!"
